LOOK-ing 4 u

LOOK !!
Soon you’ll be sitting in the audience, it’s a Sunday afternoon, there’s not an empty seat in the house. This is Broadway, the world’s 2nd greatest stage for live entertainment.  You’re in the heartbeat of New York City.
Look

Walk around midtown anytime, I’ll guarantee you someone today, tonight, tomorrow, anytime peoples mouths are moving, everyone is chewing on something in New York City. If people aren't chewing, their wiping their mouths having just finished lunch or dinner at one of the cities restaurants. Take notice of the folks in the theater district, if they seem to be in a hurry, that’s because they didn’t want to leave behind a plate with food  left on it, you can’t blame them, the foods good in NYC! I know,  I’m one of them.
Look

Wednesday morning you have a ticket to attend a morning talk show taped live Monday through Friday in a studio near Lincoln Center. And! Next month you will be flying to the west coast for a week, you’ve been randomly selected to sit in the audience during a live taping of  a popular  sitcom, and participate in a new reality show, (lucky you).
Look!
I’m curious, what’s your perception of all this?   beyond and behind the bright light of the spotlights, the tossed scripts and playbills, the booms, the blinking lights on cameras, stagehands, wrappers with half eaten bagels, rolls, and breakfast sandwiches, and free airfare. the voice you hear from somewhere will be the voice of the director.
Look!

Those people dressed in jeans, shorts, converse, keds, corduroys and flannels, standing and sitting stage right, and stage left, strolling back and forth, I don’t think they really care who you are. They’ll be glad you came; but they all have a job to do.
Look
On the sidewalk, one, two more, and one more will walk by, their mouths moving, what the hell are they all eating?
Look
Your perception of all this restlessness creates a feeling of excitement and joy.   Unlike a traditional curriculum of academia the making of entertainment can be quite informal or formal depending on your perception, expectations, your mood at the time and your  patience, understanding, and knowledge of the demands that are required to make your entertainment worth your time and money, today, tonight, tomorrow, and always.
Look
Do you really know these people?  The chances are good that you probably don’t! But to you, it seems that way! It feels good to you, you have make-believe friends, and that feels good.  That is good!   This helps to create intrigue / suspense / comedy / to television / film / and Broadway.
After the show, let them know you appreciate how hard they all tried making you feel good.
Look, I believe
All of these actors should get to know you! Not only a chosen few, because, with out you, who are they, anyway?
Don’t you agree!

Best of luck, enjoy the show.
I’ll see some of you @ the show!

not my fault

Not my fault!
Film by default, no person’s fault -fault of default, default of film!  We all watch film made by default.  Film-making is consumed by default, default’s everywhere.  It has an unintentional adverse effect on the industry, which happens by default, which unintentionally creates nothing new creatively.  Default is challenged, fought and won by only a few.
Does film contrive knowing default is at fault? It doesn’t! It’s just there, steer- clear of default otherwise it becomes your fault.

Not my fault!

The Director

Part 1
Original Screenplay / Adopted Screenplay /
The Director

It’s the Directors responsibility for the success of the film / show / musical. The Director is the person, the person whose responsibility it is to see everything works, and everyone blends, from the beginning to the end.
Our best interpreter for storyteller’s are/will be the Director, (typically one who is a seasoned Director) having the intuition, vision, and the acquired knowledge to know who, what, where, when, and how.
A film based on a true story of actual events, does not suggest the Director did an outstanding job; the true story of actual events dictated the direction for the Director.
Director
The Director has and should have the authority to overwrite (not overrule) all scripts. Once a Director has been recognized by their peers with the gift to create, the Director should influence the industry     by incorporating a team of dream-teamers attached to every script, adding and deleting until the lead Director feels the scripts taste is exceptional.

The Director should not be someone who has simply acted, and transcends to become a Director because many of their friends tell them so.  (Only a few rise to elite status)

If the Director does not like how the script is reading, than rework it. That applies to scenery and cast. That’s why they’re the Director from beginning to end.
The blame falls on the Director
Whose job it is to educate and relay the essence / meaning of the script through his / her direction. The actor’s job is to act the message, through dialogue, dance and/or song.    Under guided time and financial restraints, the Director will know the best way to interpret the script; ultimately having the most impact.
Building trust in an environment where ego’s run wild, and most balls are made of glass, trust in honesty is essential when creating a relationship.   Through the leadership of the Director, the actor will inherit a true sense and/or feeling for the script. The Director will convey passion; the actor will absorb it, allowing the Director to completely do their job.  The actor will therefore possess equal, if not more passion from becoming the life of a character, if the screenplay is to reveal itself to the audience the way it is written.

The Director’s job is to place faces and traits designated for specific roles, often times the selection by the Director is in question.  Those actors, who’ve acquired a thick head, and large egos, often become a Director’s worst nightmare.

Psychology / human behavior is a Hugh factor in film-making for the Director. An actor can watch and/or read material from a novel / musical. The adopted screenplay, the actor therefore will acquire a sense and/or feeling of the essence of the film, and their character.
The success of the adopted screenplay, as well as an original shown for the first time will depend on how the Director was able to blend person to script and visa versa.
The actor will always instinctively be judged by the audience, for better or worse than the parts original owner.  The actor can therefore reap the reward, knowing what it is they need to accomplish.

A Director may find by seeking for ideas, inspired through novels and musicals.   Adopted screenplays may not be as potent as the novel / stage performance, few are. The ones that are, they’re without question a fine collaboration between novelist and filmmaker.  (My thought for the best ever is hidden in silence).
I prefer the genius that is an original created from imagination, as opposed to an adoption.
An actor’s soon to be next job may depend on the success of the Director.
I believe the Directors job is slighted a degree with an adopted screenplay for reasons stated above.

Yep, con't, yep never know ! her wish ?

YEP!
He’s a damn fool!
&
She knows it!
She’s elegant; she has the wisdom to know she can’t let him go. She's his director.  It’s not her personality to tell him he's an ass-hole! It’s not lady-like to curse out- loud, under her breath she curses, she always has, she curses  at him everyday.  Her moments of silence support wisdom and grace. Her films are a testament to her extraordinary sense and vision. She instinctively visions the scenes she sees, he doesn't care about what she sees, his mind is only on one thing, can't blame him, he’s always been that way. Pretty face, wavy hair, five foot eight.

He’s hoping they stay together forever. Good –Luck!
YEP!
With him, it’s his ego!  She knows that? She has an ego too!  Hers is silent, not selfish, top billing means shit to her!  When the films completed and the writers, and actors, director and producer supporting the film are together, sincerity and honesty is paramount.  Yep, she wants to be recognized, flattered, and congratulated, but only when it’s worthy to be pet, flattered, and congratulated!
Not him, he wants to be congratulated and stroked for tying his shoes. He wants what other boys own, he will copy and (borrow) what other boys own, and call it his own! She’ll borrow, but only when it applies to pajamas and jeans, she not will assume ideas of others as her own, she will Not Copy or simulate and call it her own,   she rather think her own way, WHY? Than it’s hers, it’s her way!
She is demanding herself, not him! He’s thinking of only one way, his scene, one script, can't blame him, he's a pawn to an ancient way.
She knows his way is crimping the industry. Growth is slow, genuine entertainment is by only a few. She knows the outlaws and rebels and so do her friends.
He don't give a damn, it’s about He! His way! That’s me! He pees in his pants at the first sound of clapping, it’s he seeking glory, as if he done something wonderful! "That’s doubtful ass-hole," silence is her; He’s excited, she pretends not to see the pee in his pants.

Nominated this year, with many of her peers, acknowledgement is worth more than tons of talk. Why?  She’ll be back again next year!

She knows storytelling - a drop of blood, a -close -up of a kiss on a lip!  He shows the reflection in a mirror,  blood than death.
She knows story, intrigue and mystery, death and hate can wait!
She creates stories of family, friends, and foe of make-believe, talk of murder and who, what and why! He knows and shows; “murder the person who murdered my brother,” OK!
She knows story of life before, during, and after the war, of family, friends, and a foe reunited! He shows death of body by bombs by boys who care-less for the moms.
She's wiser than he; to create is of no wonder nor magic or mystery.
She and her team live to dream, they seek out their scenes, knowing it will appear, if “HE” does not interfere, wanting his way.

Comment- me, let’s see; what and how, she and he, imagine!

YEP !

YEP!
She knows it!   He always knew it ! I think ?
Generally speaking though
She has patience linked to an eloquent way of analyzing  things. She possesses a non-egotistical way about herself (that’s right boys) her time of silence supports non-combative behavior. (I know what you’re thinking boys).  She’ll gather and group, sincerity & honesty are paramount, the impulse of others are necessary if she is to be taken seriously. (Isn’t this what the five alive in heaven knew)
YEP!
With us, (boys) it’s an ego thing!  I know what you’re thinking? She has an ego too! Yes, but, hers is not selfish, top billing means shit!  Her ego is satisfied, silent and shines only when her creativity is activated and the franchise completed, and every writer and principle were heard!  Yep, she wants to be recognized, flattered, and congratulated, but only when it’s worthy to be pet, flattered, and congratulated!
Not us boys, we want to be congratulated and stroked for tying our shoes. Boys want what other boys own, we will copy and (borrow) what other boys own, and call it our own! She’ll borrow, but only when it applies to pajamas and jeans, Do Not Copy or simulate works of others, use one’s own creation. Generally speaking she rather think her own way, WHY? Than it’s hers!

She is demanding better ways, knowing ancient ways of telling tales crimps the industry. Growth is slow, genuine entertainment is by few and far between. She knows this. She knows the outlaws and rebels and so do her friends. Her friends are cherished! His, he could give a damn.
We boys pee - pee in our pants when we hear the sound of applause, seeking immediate glory, not her! If deserving of it, a little acknowledgement is worth more than tons of talk. Why? Because she’ll be back to give us some more!

Boys, wake-up!

Let’s apply this to TV & film;

Now fellas! She reacts better to impulse than us men, what she does with that impulse to create is of wonder, not mystery.

Now fellas!  Immediately the impulse transcends to a mental visual, she will allow it to percolate, she will allow her  team to dream, seeking their scene, than developing it with patience,(non-ego) soon it will become a reality of fine creative entertainment,  if  “HE” does not interfere, trying to call it his own.

Later we will have some fun looking at how we imagine, how and what she and he imagines, and the difference in outcome from imagination.

What she imagines is not necessarily how he imagines!

This is our entertainment
YEP!
